HOW TO USE

Cassia Essential Oil has a warm, spicy, cinnamon-like aroma that feels grounding and invigorating. In small, well-diluted amounts, it’s sometimes used in scalp and hair care blends for its stimulating feel, as well as in aromatic routines when you want a cozy, warming scent.

  1. Aromatic

Diffuse cassia oil using about 2–4 drops per 100 mL of water to create a warm, comforting atmosphere. Because the aroma is strong, it blends well with citrus or woody oils to soften and balance the scent.

  2. Topical

Cassia essential oil is very potent and must be heavily diluted before skin or scalp use. For general topical or scalp blends, keep dilution low — up to 0.5–1% (about 3–6 drops per ounce / 30 mL of carrier oil). When used for the scalp, mix well with a carrier oil and massage gently, then wash out as part of a pre-wash routine.

Warning: For external use only. Cassia essential oil is highly concentrated and can be irritating if not properly diluted. Avoid contact with eyes and sensitive areas. Patch test before first use, especially for scalp application, and discontinue if irritation occurs. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Woody
Interesting scent, long lasting, low viscocity

This cassia oil is not what I expected. I am accustomed to cassia oil smelling very similar to cinnamon, this product, however, smells only slightly cinnamon adjacent. The fragrance of this oil smells, yeasty, slightly woody and sweet, with a slightly sour note that has a hint of cinnamon character to it. It smells almost exactly like Italian panettone bread, except with a woody background. I used the oil in a diffuser and I was initially on the fence, but after a few minutes, I found myself feeling a bit queasy from the smell. So ultimately, I dislike the fragrance, but since scent preferences are subjective, someone else may like it. At least it doesnt smell synthetic. The oil on the diffuser pad remained pungent for about three days. The viscosity is very thin for an oil and I was initially concerned that it would not disperse in carrier oil. But after adding a few drops to sweet almond oil and shaking it, the cassia oil blended evenly into the carrier oil and showed no signs of separating. At four ounces, the bottle is quite large and since cassia oil can be irritating if not highly diluted, if this is used for topical application with a carrier oil, the bottle should last for a very long time. The dropper top is a nice addition, making it easy to use.

Smells different than cinnamon

This product comes in a very nice amber glass bottle with both a regular lid and a glass dropper. This is important to not only appropriately preserve the product but also to ensure that there are no leaks. The included glass dropper makes it very easy to measure out the product for consistent usage. When I first saw this, I thought cassia was the same as cinnamon, but it doesn't appear to be the case. It doesn't smell BAD. I'm going to be honest, when I first got it, I didn't really like the smell and then it kind of grew on me. The listing said it can help cleanse the scalp so I mixed a few drops (4 drops might have been too much but then again I have long hair and use a giant palm full of shampoo) into my shampoo portion and massaged into my scalp and hair. It did indeed feel very refreshing and smelled good! Although, it did overpower the light natural lavender scent from my shampoo! The feeling of using this cassia oil on my scalp is similar to using another "refreshing" essential oil such as peppermint. I'm mentioning that one because I feel more people would know what peppermint oil feels like more than cassia oil. Assuming since it feels that way on the scalp, it would probably burn if it comes in contact with your mucous membranes so keep it away from those! I do have a cat and found out that this oil is actually toxic for them like most essential oils are so while this one is pretty versatile, I will not be using it in other areas other than the master bathroom that my cat doesn't ever go near. It makes great aromatherapy by itself or mixed with other essential oils in the shower by just dropping a few drops on the shower floor and letting the scent be diffused by the shower steam! This scent almost makes a great "before you go" oil by dropping 2-3 drops into your toilet. You or your guest then won't smell anything unpleasant. I prefer natural vs any toxic artificial fragrance you get in most store bought items. This is a big bottle that will last you a long time so it's definitely good value. If you have cats though, please be careful that they aren't around in the areas you use this because while there's not immediate effects from just smelly it, it can cause them long term health issues that eventually lead to death. Just leaving a friendly warning. I would not have ordered this have I known this prior, but for now will only use sparingly in the master bath. Everywhere else is free range for my sweet indoor cat. Give it a shot if you don't own cats though. You might love it!

Powerful

I add a few drops to my lotion and I'm not going to lie, it heats up your skin. But I use it to help lower my sugar so I have learned that it doesn't feel as hot when you put it on your feet. If you put it on your arms and legs you're going to feel it

Wish it came in a 4 ounce bottle. We have had a pest problem and this pisses them off and keeps them away.

Very nice cinnamon scent

I bought this to use in the small Vermont oil lantern I purchased, as I wanted something cinnamon-scented. Since that is not the major intended use, the bottle is not set up to just pour. Nevertheless, it was easy to remove the dispensing insert, and just access the liquid. I must say just a few ml is more than sufficient to produce a nice scent with my lamp. At that usage rate, this small bottle should last me a long time.
